In Greek mythology, Medusa began her life as a beautiful princess who dedicated her life to Athena and was devoid of wings.
However, after being cursed by Athena, she became a monstrous creature with snakes for hair and a face so ugly that her gaze could turn the observer to stone.
After this event, Medusa was usually depicted with wings, although some depictions don’t contain them.
Because the myths surrounding Medusa and the Gorgons vary, it is possible that different stories portrayed them in different ways.
